UPI Investigation Finds Cozy Industry/Government Vaccine Practices

Vaccination Decisions
Part one: Is it possible to assess vaccine safety?

UPI Investigation Finds Cozy Industry/Government Vaccine Practices

A four-month investigation by UPI editor Mark Benjamin found numerous conflicts of interest between the federal Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and pharmaceutical companies with regard to vaccines, as well as health problems associated with vaccines recommended by the CDC. The complete article--published on July 20, 2003--is viewable at www.upi.com/view.cfm?StoryID=20030718-012134-4422r. The investigation largely corroborates the WA Free Press article "Conflicts of Interest" (Jan '03, viewable at www.wafreepress.org/61/conflictsOfInterest.htm). Unfortunately, the detailed UPI investigation apparently received no airing in the mainstream media. Although UPI is a highly reputable source, and the topic of vaccine safety is a major concern to the public, a Google search yielded no mainstream publication of the UPI investigation. For whatever reasons, there appears to be almost a taboo in the mainstream media against reporting criticism of vaccines, even if such criticism is completely rational and highly authoritative.
