Rummage Sale Aug. 26

Your closet is cram-packed. Your basement is unnavigable. Get rid of your excess stuff! Donate it to the Free Press Benefit Rummage Sale on August 26. Bring yard-salable goods-in-good-condition between 8am and 10am to the Free Press sign you'll see near the corner of 10th Ave. East and East Thomas St. on Capitol Hill, Seattle. Mark your calendars and help both yourself and the Free Press. Call our message line at [WAfreepress@gmail.com] with questions.

Subscribe

This paper is a bit like public television or public radio because we are reader-supported. We depend on you to print this paper. But unlike the electronic media, we cannot interrupt your bliss with annoying pledge drives. Another difference is that we aren't embarrassed about being openly progressive, which leads to another reason to subscribe: to help us print important progressive news that bigger corporate media ignores. See the subscription form below.

Volunteer

The Free Press needs to be edited, proofread and distributed. Events and fundraisers need to be planned and assisted. And you're just the person who could do it or help out!

Write

Readers often become writers at the Free Press. It's an excellent forum to try your hand at reporting, and an excellent excuse to interview interesting local people. And if you're not keen to become a reporter, your letter-to-the-editor is always appreciated, even if it's cantankerous!

Donate

Larger donations can be tax-deductible (see box on page 2).

We are also looking for donations of Mac computers (powermac or above) and a Mac compatible scanner.

And Finally

Recycle this paper: give it to a friend or leave it on the bus for someone new to see it!
